A few weeks ago with Deb and her family, we met Bruce and Alex for a caving adventure on the cumberland plateau in Tennessee. Amazingly enough, both Alex & my cameras didn't have enough battery power to bring our gear in the cave. It is just as well because it gave us time to concentrate on making sure the grandkids, Deb, Suzanne and Ward had a safe and enjoyable time. We wouldn't have gotten as far into the cave had we spent time setting up shots along the way. Thanks to Lonnie for allowing us to explore his cave and showing us an exciting time around his farm.

Overlooking the blue springs valley and Lonnie's farm, we gathered for a group photo at his friends home. Fifty feet behind us is a 100' cliff into the valley.

Absolutely amazing, a coral fossil near the entrance to the cave.

Beautiful translucent stalactite.

Katheryn Kennedy proves to be a real trooper during the whole trip.

Suzanne making a caving fashion statement.

Deb making her way down the only ladder in the cave.

Of course a group photo at the beautiful stalagmite.

A wonderful brimstone pool

Ward transporting the family across the pool. Good thing he smashed his leg in a hole in the pool. It deferred the pain from his migraine headache and back.

Just transporting another family member. He was really glad I didn't want to go to the other side.

All in all the trip was wonderful. We met and made new friends, shared our experiences and Bruce and Alex got to meet my new family.
